Design Techniques - Chichén Itzá
A downloadable game
For this project at University I was to show some level design techniques created in Unity 3D using the Mayan ruins of Chichén Itzá as a reference.
The main focus was on showing examples on player leading techniques such as leading lines, framing, denial and reward, bread-crumbing, boundaries and more using prototyping tools.
With this assignment I learned a great deal about prototyping not just inside Unity, but with creating physical prototypes. For the pyramid puzzle I made a paper based model to help visualise the challenge and create a combination so that I knew exactly what to do when it came to building it in Unity.
I was quite proud of the puzzles included as they were the first I ever created in 3D. While creating them I gained a little bit more experience with scripting in C#.
